Glynevian provides tailored one-on-one training for working field dogs, family pets, and everything in between! We focus on your unique needs to deliver a loving companion dog who best complements your lifestyle.
Although much of our training focuses on field sports (hunting/flushing/retrieving) and the foundational obedience that accompanies them, the skills we teach are easily transferable to any breed and to family pets, helping you raise a well-mannered dog.
Whether you need help getting started with a brand new puppy, tackling a particular problem, building skills in the field, or you're looking for a cooperative pet at home, we help you and your dog succeed. We offer

About
John Carpenter has been working and training Labrador Retrievers for over 10 years. Based in Dutchess County, NY, one of the hubs of wingshooting in the US, John has immersed himself into a life of shooting, guiding, dogs, and field sports.
A 10-year career with The Orvis Company as a manager of their Millbrook, NY shooting grounds, John and his dogs work roughly 60 shoot days a year, flushing, hunting, and retrieving game.
He lives with his wife and two children in an 1840’s farmhouse in the NY countryside.
